It’s never too early to go shopping for a prom dress, right? With prom just around the corner in April, senior girls have been searching for that perfect dress. Whether it’s in their favorite color, has the perfect amount of jewels on it, or it just looks good, you want your dress to be exactly that—your dress.

Thanks to the help of an anonymous senior here at Bel Air, there’s no need to worry about showing up in the same dress as someone else. Instagram user @bapromdresses allows anyone following them to send in a picture of their dress so they can post it to avoid repeats.

“I had heard of some other schools having the same idea and I thought it would be cool for us girls to have a place to see each other’s dresses in order to avoid an awkward ‘double-dress’ situation,” said the anonymous user.

As of right now, there are over 61 posts with gorgeous dresses from multiple people in the 12th grade and some from the 11th grade coming with a senior to prom. Every caption of the pictures are ended with sweet comments on the dress or the person, saying what looks good on the dress, usually ended with a smiley-face emoji. People love the Instagram because not only is it a great idea, but the person running it takes time to comment on each dress for an extra confidence boost!

“My favorite dresses so far this year are Emily Miller’s, Maddie Ritchey’s and Elyssa Ruth’s,” said the user.

This year there are many new trends that can be found in any store or boutique that the Instagram user really likes. Features that really stand out are prominent in many of the dresses that are sent in and can be found on any prom dress rack.

“This year, dramatic backs are in! I’ve also seen lots of jewel embellishments and flashy tops,” exclaimed the user.

Another really interesting thing is how the Instagram page looks like a rainbow— colors range from dark, to light shades, pastel colors or ones with colorful designs or even ones with bright flashy colors. No one has really gotten a similar dress color because there are so many different colors that look good on different skin tones or body types.

“I’ve noticed that light/pastel colors look great on girls with tan or dark skin, while darker colors like black and navy blue look great on girls with lighter skin!”

Prom is officially around two months away and right now is the best time to get a dress. Designers are coming out with new styles and stores are having really good deals. Popular stores include David’s Bridal and Synchronicity. Keep checking at boutiques around Towson and White Marsh for that perfect dress!

“At this year’s prom I’m most looking forward to seeing all of the kids I’ve grown up with, all dressed up and having a great time!” said @bapromdresses.

The ‘This is Our Moment’ 2015 Senior Prom will be on April 25, at Martin’s East. Follow @bapromdresses on Instagram to see all of your classmate’s dresses and submit your own!
