The boys’ basketball team played their first playoff game on Tuesday, February 27. When asked how the season went, student Cooper Ray said “The regular season had a lot of ups and downs losing players and coaches. Swim

Boys placed 2nd in Counties, 1st at regionals, and 9th at States. When asked how the season went, student Mackenzie Leeson said “Our season was great, our boys took home not just an undefeated season but a school record in the 400 relay and a plaque at regionals. Our girls continued to show off their skills and determination despite being outnumbered and slated for fifth place at each meet, they took home second at both meets.

Cheerleading

The Bel Air High School Cheerleading team had a truly outstanding season full of accomplishments for Bel Air. The Cheer team won UCBAC champs once again and went on to regionals. The Lady Bobcats secured a regional title and qualified for states. The Bobcats unfortunately did not win states, but it wasn’t without a fight. When asked how the season went, student Abigail Sergeant said “The cheer season this year was incredible. The amount the team bonded and worked together to push through was really what the sport is about. Winning regionals was definitely at the top of the list but what was most important from this season is we all had fun.

This year’s winter sports season was one to remember. Make sure to keep an eye out for more stories coming as spring season begins soon!
