-State of the Union: President Obama addressed the United States this week and brought up many ideas he personally believes in, such as free community college. It was an interesting speech, bringing up many controversial statements such as promising to veto Republican priorities and more ideas such as a new tax plan and increased internet access. All of the ideas proposed might never happen under the current Republic-centered Congress, but Obama still stands strong behind his ideas. The address itself seemed to be treated as just any regular TV event, with its own hashtag and many Vine/Twitter jokes (mostly made about Joe Biden, who stole the show with his ‘proud face’).
-Justin Bieber Roast: The 20-year-old Canadian superstar will have his own roast on Comedy Central coming soon. Bieber has apparently been asking to be roasted for quite a long time and he has finally gotten his chance. Many people are excited to see this, considering Bieber has been such a punchline in his past years. This special will definitely be one you won’t want to miss.
-Deflate Gate: So, before we dive into this, what do deflated footballs have to do with anything? Apparently, they give a better grip. The Patriots have been suspected of this after the game against the Colts in the past week, which they won to move onto the Super Bowl. Fans of the Colts are outraged, but that might be it— officials might never come up with a solution for this cheating and the Patriots will just continue to the Super Bowl. But their image has been, dare I say, deflated after this recent scandal. It looks like the Seahawks just gained a lot more fans for this year’s final game.
