On Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, the Bobcat Wrestling Team traveled to Patterson Mill to take on the Huskies in the last regular season dual meet.

To start off the match, the Bobcats gave up a quick three points to the Huskies but then they went on to win seven consecutive matches. Freshman Liam Bowers got the win streak started by tying up 3-3. From that point on, the bobcats dominated by achieving five pins, four of which were back to back and Senior Captain Cameron Watts added five points coming from a technical fall. Pins came from Sophomores Tom Gomez, Scott Miser, and Sam Queen, Junior Trevor Proctor and Senior Micah Hunter-Goskie.

“We wrestled a great match against a good rival and came out on top once again against Patterson Mill,” said Senior Captain Cameron Watts.

Coming down to the end of the match, the Bobcats and Huskies exchanged wins to end the match. The two wins that came from the Bobcats came from Junior Dakota Crawford and Senior Captain David Reagan, both of those wins came from pins. The Huskies went on to win the next two of the meet, but still fell short to the ‘Cats, 50-24.

“Moving into the regionals is awesome. We did this as a team and we made accomplishing goals that we set from the beginning of the year,” said Junior Dakota Crawford. “We wrestled our hearts out against Patterson Mill and it was great to beat them again this year”

Winning against Patterson Mill means that the ‘Cats will move on to the regional duals as a result of winning their division for the second year in the row. Also, the wrestling team is now on an 80 win streak against any Harford or Cecil County Schools.

Ending the regular season, the Bobcats finish with the record of 21-5, but still have a lot of wrestling to do before the end of the season. The Bobcats will either travel or host the Duals Tournament next week to start their post season wrestling.
