Every year at the Baltimore’s Inner Harbor several engineering teams come forth – years of trial and error, years of practice, all coming to fruition into this one moment – the Cargo Ship Challenge. Team Hermes earned a first place award and Team Tachyon placed third. All teams worked hard to put their best effort into their work.
Bel Air High School’s Engineering Teams have been crafting their ships since “the beginning of the year,” sophomore Abby Rios reported. This is a tiring process – of several after school meetings where the groups work on the construction – and moments where restarting seemed to be the only answer “because [their] designs just weren’t right,” Rios shared.
The engineering team is split into five teams – Delta-X-Express, Swift Claw, Hermes, Tachyon and Team Velocious. Congratulations to all on another season complete!
