Neff and Tsomos Leading Lady Bobcats Basketball

With two home games starting the week of Dec. 15, the Varsity Girls’ Basketball team played against North County High School and North East Indians, with a big match against the C. Milton Wright Mustangs. With a tough loss to North County High, the Lady ‘Cats took a huge bounce back and defeated the Indians. Monday’s loss to North County had a final score of 52-42. It was a close game, but the Lady ‘Cats just could not end the game with the lead.

However, with a huge bounce back, the Lady ‘Cats came back ready to win against the North East Indians with a final score of 47-16. This was great preparation for their next game on Thursday, Dec. 18 at C. Milton Wright. In the North East game their offense seemed to click with all their plays executing well, but the girls always hang their hats on defense. This win is something that the girls needed to get back on their track to winning the season as a team.  Key players in this game were defensively Elizabeth Hillman, Natalie Neff, Anna Wehland and Bethany Ingram, and offensively OC Murphy, Renie Tsomos and with 9 points and strong rebounds, Catia Johnson.

“This gamed seemed to be a more team oriented game and it was good to see everyone clicking together on the court. I am sure that this motivation will be kept throughout the season,” said manager Savannah Meyers.

The Varsity Girls’ Basketball team plays at C. Milton Wright on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 6:45 p.m. Be there to support the big game!
