Bel Air Dance Club Wants You!

A major part of being a teenager is the desperate drive to find ourselves.  Finding a hobby or art you are able to get lost in is something that gives us a sense of comfort and wholesomeness. A great opportunity to experience this is by joining clubs and extracurricular activities here at Bel Air High School. Bel Air High School has currently created a new club that will open up the doors to many creative individuals through Dance Club.

Returning to Bel Air High school, this club is making a comeback to show true passion and talent for the art of dance in an appropriate manner. Students Diamond Brown, Labresha Waters, Arianna Musser, and Aleah Bacetti worked with Mrs. Stanton to express this raw determination and desire to the administration.

“Our first meeting for the dance club was Jan. 6 at 2:15. We discussed that we started this club because we have a strong passion for dance and step and we want to show our fellow administrators that we can do it right! Meaning, being respectful to our school and peers and giving a good reputation to the Bel Air name!” said an inspired Labresha Waters.

Anyone can join who is interested in dancing. Meetings are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:15-3:30pm in room C220. Attend any of the meetings and get a sneak peak of what to expect if you decide to commit to the team or not. The Dance Team really hopes to grow and encourages all aspiring dancers to take part.

“Dancers, please join! It’s super fun and everyone is so welcoming. You are not required to meet all three of the days, but only two. If you have to miss a few for other reasons just let the team know in advance. We can talk to you personally about it if you feel more comfortable. Also, it never hurts to come to one meeting and try it out. If you don’t like it and decide it isn’t for you that is completely okay! If you stick with it, bring some comfy athletic clothes and water because we are going to be working hard!” said Aleah Bacetti.

Dance is an authentic form of art and is a hobby of many individuals throughout Bel Air High School. Dance is made to mix cultures, groups, ethnic backgrounds and forms.

“The club’s true goal is to challenge people to think outside the box and see what dance truly can be,” said Bacetti.

“We have a fun and welcoming atmosphere. We want everyone to express their talent in any way even if we can’t have a true team. Just come to anyone of our practices if you are unsure or curious and see what you do and don’t like, we can always use feedback!” stated Diamond Brown.

If this club is opening up the doors for you to expand your creative ability or peeks your interest, then don’t hesitate to join. If you are interested and want to learn more you can ask Aleah Bacetti, Diamond Brown, Labresha Waters, Mrs. Stanton or Mr. Eppts.
