S’winter Ball Sweeps into Bel Air

Peyton Stinnett

On Jan. 22, 2015, Bel Air High School is hosting their third annual Winter Ball, wishing away the cold weather for the theme of “S’winter,” a summer-winter hybrid.

“Snow and sand go hand in hand” is the main idea behind the Swinter theme. The dance has also been deemed a Sadie Hawkins dance, where it is custom for the girls to invite the boys.  Tickets are on sale for the week of Jan. 11 for $20.00 each.

Students are to follow the Harford County Dress Code in their semi-formal attire, meaning long or short dresses, and dress shirt, dress pants, and ties.

Mrs. McDonough, BAHS teacher and freshman class advisor states: “Try to tie in the summer theme to your outfits!”

The money raised from the tickets will be evenly distributed among the classes, where it will then go towards events like senior prom or the class trip.

“It is a great fundraiser for us as a school, as well,” said Mrs. McDonough.

This year, students will be given the opportunity to have professional pictures taken with their friends at the ball, which can be purchased from the photographer who gives the proceeds back to the classes.

We hope to see students of all ages dressed up in their best S’winter attire at the dance.  Stay warm, Bobcats!
