Pictures of long slip-n-slides that are a part of an event called ‘Slide the City’ have circulated on popular twitter accounts in the past weeks, captioned with phrases like ‘Summer Goals’ or ‘Bucket List.’ Lucky for Maryland residents, these summer goals can be soon achieved, and teens can check off an item on their bucket list soon. Slide the City is coming to Baltimore on June 13th this year with its 1000 foot long slip-n-slide!

Slide the City is an organization that is traveling the US this summer, with its 1000 foot in length slip-n-slide in tow. Slide the City is a family friendly, water party event. There is live music, food, drinks, and a vinyl slip-n-slide that the organization jokes has “more cushion than your grandpa’s orthopedic sneakers.” Its length is equivalent to over three football fields.

The event starts at noon at 3500 Hillen Road Baltimore, MD 21218. Three different passes are available and price goes up the longer you wait to register. There is a single slide pass, a triple slide pass, and an unlimited slider pass. Sliders earn the privilege of sliding the 1000 foot slip-n-slide and get a mouth guard, tattoo, t-shirt, tube, drawstring bag and a hat.

The sliding goes from noon to 5 pm for single and triple pass buyers, but people who buy the unlimited pass can slide from 11 am to 6 pm. Passes can be purchased the day of the event for a higher price, provided that the event does not sell out beforehand.

People are invited to bring water buckets, floaties, water guns, and other water toys to squirt, spray, and splash all attending. The event will take place rain or shine, after all, how is just a little more water going to hurt?
