On Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, Field of Screams opened for the Halloween season and welcomed guests to experience their four terrifying attractions.

Field of Screams started out as a small community scare house and slowly become an international sensation. 60,000 – 100,000 people come from across the United States each year to experience a horrifying yet enjoyable experience. It is said to be one of the scariest haunted attractions in America.

Each attraction has a different theme: haunted mansion, den, nocturnal wasteland, and a hayride. Guests can have a little taste of all their worst fears. Actors are in charge of brainstorming new ideas and characters each season. There are over 400 characters who volunteer to be a part of the family each year.

One Field of Screams volunteer said, “The actors would have ideas from anybody or anything that’s worthwhile. There are four attractions at the moment and this is our second year now for nocturnal wasteland. The attractions are all different so we can push forward and keep making it fresh.”

There is also an event known as the Zombie Run at night for all people from ages 12 and older. Runners 11 and under must register for wave start times between 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. The event it is not recommended for children under 6.

Jamie Rodrigues, a guest, said, “I enjoyed the hayride the most. The clowns were very realistic and I would do this all over again. Everything was fun and it was worth the money. There were tight and scary places and everyone ran out of every attraction!”

Field of Screams is open and closed at a variety of times depending on the amount of people there each weekend from Sept. 12 to Nov. 9.
