With the 2023 MLB season finally underway, Baltimore sports fans get another chance to watch the Orioles play. With a 9-7 start to the season, the Orioles are getting fans excited with hopes of a successful season and a possible playoff run. 

As many Baltimore sports fans know, the Orioles have been in the rebuilding phase for many years now, ever since the Machado, Jones, and Davis era ended around 2016. The Orioles did not have a positive record at the end of any season, and they even had a 110-loss season in 2021 with a terrible record of 52-110. 

Fortunately for Orioles fans, this drought for the team may be at an end with the Orioles finishing the 2022 season at 83-79. While they did miss the playoffs, the Orioles proved to the league that they were making moves and improving. They wanted to let the country know that they weren’t going to be a bottom of the barrel team for long.  

After showing signs of promise with many young prospectus players, the Orioles have continued to improve with a decent start to the 2023 season.  

Along with improving as a team, the Orioles are beginning to have players that are very exciting to watch. Cedric Mullins is one of those players as he is gaining national recognition and even played for the United States National Team in the World Baseball Classic, along with being named an All-Star in the 2021 season.  

After half a decade of sorrow and disappointment for Orioles fans, the 2023 season could be the light at the end of the tunnel with the great promise that this young team shows. This is a season to look forward to for Baltimore.
