Bel Air High School celebrated 60 years of Bobcat wrestling memories on Saturday, January 27, 2018.

This Bobcat celebration consisted of a pre match social hour in the Bel Air High School Cafeteria from 3:30-4:30.  At 5:00 the Parade of Champions Guest Speakers began with a special presentation of both the individual and team wrestling state champions in Bel Air’s history.

“We celebrated 60 years of traditions and the history of Bel Air Wrestling, inviting our alumni wrestlers, family, and the whole community.” Said Bel Air Wrestling Coach Craig Reddish. “.It was nice to see some old friends and old faces.”

Bel Air concluded the night with a dominant 73-4 victory over Perry Hall. Trevor Lorin, Troy Dureza, Brent Lorin, Shy Mosley, Jacob Reed, Grant Cole, Dave Abboud, Jarritt Stencil, and Jack Brink all scored pins for the Bobcats.

“Alumni night is something we’ve never done at Bel Air before. I was pretty excited to see all of the previous wrestlers that we hear stories of all the time.”  Said Junior Captain Brent Lorin.  “We see their names posted around the school, and I think it was great to put a face to the story.”

The Bobcat wrestlers were allowed to have a lot of fun on the night, wearing throwback warm-ups and singlets from the sixty year history of the program, many of which those in attendance had worn themselves.

“Alumni Night was a blast. It was awesome to meet all of the past wrestlers we hear so much about, and it was great to have them see us win in such a huge way. I loved wearing those throwback jackets from twenty years ago.” Said Junior Captain Jack Brink

Alumni Night 2018 looks to be the first event in a budding, fun tradition for the whole Bel Air Wrestling community.
