On Wednesday, September 13th 2017, the Bel Air Varsity Field Hockey team took on Liberty High School on home turf and suffered their second loss of the season, bringing their record to 1-2.

The Bobcats came out with a lot of energy and ready to play. The Liberty lions countered that energy to make it a competitive game.

The final score was 2-1, with Liberty scoring early in the first half. Bel Air’s Peyton Hale came back with a goal, tying it up just before the end of the first half. With a tied score at the end of the game, the two teams went into overtime with the Lions scoring in the fourth minute and winning an intense game.

Chelsea Gostomski had a strong game holding Liberty off. With a slide tackle in overtime saving a Liberty goal. Gostomski says, “A very well-played game by both teams. Everyone hustled and did their part. Bobcats just unfortunately came short of the win.”

Although the Bel Air Hockey season has just begun the girls have been working hard all summer to be the best they possible can this season. Come out this season to see their hard work pay off on the field.
