Starting on Thursday, September 14th at 3:30pm, The Bel Air Bobcat’s weekend battle against the John Carroll Patriots will begin.  Over this three day span, both the JV and Varsity Bel Air teams of almost every fall school sport will play against the John Carroll teams.

The cost of the weekend will go as followed: Thursday games will all be free admission, on Friday there will be only be the Varsity football game and it will be $5, and Saturday will be $5 for an entire day full of games. Game passes will be accepted for every game this weekend.

“The entire Bel Air student body has been looking forward to this cross town rally and I hope the Bobcats will outperform the patriots like I know they can.” Said Emma Boccia, one of the many Bobcat students excited for this huge weekend.

This weekend is going to be extra special, because a trophy will be awarded to whichever team wins the most amount of games at the end of the weekend. This trophy will be called the “Commissioners Cup”, and if the teams tie, then whoever wins the Varsity football game will be awarded the trophy.

The schedule of the weekend will start off as the JV football team and boys’ volleyball teams playing on Thursday night. The big Varsity football game will be on Friday night at 7:00pm. On Saturday, we will be hosting 8 games total which will go as the following: JV girls’ soccer, JV girls’ volleyball, Varsity girls’ soccer, Varsity girls’ volleyball, JV boys’ soccer, JV field hockey, Varsity field hockey, and the final game will be the Varsity Boys soccer team. After this game, the school with the most wins over the three days will be awarded the Commissioner’s Cup.

“We are very excited to begin this rivalry weekend with John Carrol, I think that this is something that as the weekends go by the entire town of Bel Air will get behind this and become a part of it.” Said Anthony Blackburn, the Athletic Director of Bel Air High.

This will be an exceptionally large weekend for both Bel Air and John Carroll, so make sure to keep up with everything on our social media @thebellarion.
