Our Bobcat wrestling team won a total of 46 matches out of a possible 56 for a combined win of 61-9 points against Severna Park High School this weekend at the Battle of the Bauru Tournament.

Friday, December 16 was the beginning of the tournament but due to weather, the second day of the tournament was cancelled. The makeup day is going to be on Thursday, December 29.

Winning this tournament put Bobcats in first place overall after day one of the Battle of the Bauru Tournament.

“Everyone is wrestling hard and still alive in the tournament,” says Coach Reddish.

Last year’s state champions, Brent Loran and Jacob Reed, did a great job pinning those Severna High guys and putting big points on to the board for the Bel Air Bobcats.

“I think we’re doing great in the tournament, we won almost all of our matches the first night and I think we’re going to have most of our guys place in the top 4,” said sophomore Jack Brink who lost one of his matches but won the second.

Our next match is a multiteam event, Tuesday, December 20 at Parkville High school at 3:30pm. Come out and watch our Bobcats pin those guys to the mat. Go Bobcats!!!
