Luau for Lupus Cheer Competition

On Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, the Bel Air Cheerleaders competed in the second competition of the season here at Bel Air High School.

This competition, themed and entitled Luau for Lupus, to raise money for the Lupus foundation at Johns Hopkins Hospital, was a success for all participants and attendees.

The Bobcats scored 120 points in the competition while Glen Burnie came up second with 118 points. Because we were not competing to win, Glen Burnie was granted the donation for the charity.

Cheerleading Coach Mrs. Benfield states, “One of our girls on varsity has Lupus so we were extremely happy to participate in this competition for her.”

Bel Air pulled out amazing stunts on the mat, and the six judges of the competition were unable to keep their eyes off of them!

“Watching JV perform at their last competition gave me chills.” Says varsity cheerleader Olivia Benton. “They have come a long way since the beginning of the season and I couldn’t be more proud of them.”

The next cheer competition will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at UCBAC at 6:00 p.m. Come out and support our Bobcat Cheerleaders for another win. Go Bobcats!!!
