Girls’ Lacrosse Team Defeats Fallston…Again!

On Friday, Apr. 29, 2016, the Bel Air Girls’ Lacrosse team played in another game against Fallston High School. The Bobcats came out again with the win, this time the score was 9-4, a great win to celebrate the ‘Cats’ senior night!

In the first half, both teams came out hard. The Bobcats had three goals, scored by Senior Captain Bekah Riley, Senior Emily McQuay and Senior Jackie Ranney. The Cougars had one goal to end the half. The score at halftime was 3-1, Bel Air.

The ‘Cats came out strong in the second half and dominated the rest of the game. The half started with a goal from Riley and a goal from Junior Lexi Strobel. Just after Strobel’s goal, Fallston retaliated, scoring one goal on the Bobcats. The scoring after that was very back and forth. Fallston was able to score two more goals, while Bel Air scored four. Bel Air goals were from Ranney, Junior Anna Farley,
Sophomore Julia Henry and Freshman Grace Wehland. Senior Goalie Sydney Matthews had 9 saves. The final score was 9-4 Bel Air.

Following the game, Strobel said, “It was very intense throughout the whole game. Our defense was solid, and our goalie had a lot of great saves. It was a crucial win to start preparing us for playoffs.”
