On Thursday, April 14, the Bel Air Varsity Tennis Team traveled to Aberdeen where they lost with a final score of 5-6.

Despite the difficult losses of all 6 single matches against Aberdeen, the Bobcats managed to win all 5 of the remaining doubles matches.

Ally Tran and Jada Lewis both scored 6-1 twice for the first round of Girls Doubles Matches, while Skyler Soriano and Marissa Pasquinelli scored 6-1 for the first match and 6-4 in the other.

“We lost a tough one against Aberdeen. While we won all 5 of our doubles matches, we couldn’t close in our singles matches, losing all 6,” said Bel Air Tennis Coach Tyler Restrick.

Jacob Rannie and Douglas Naumann blew out Aberdeen with a score of 6-0 for both matches for the first round of Boys Doubles. Nick Sulzbach and Evan Kern scored 6-3 and 6-2 for the last round of doubles.  To end the match, David Moore and Paige Naumann slaughtered Aberdeen with a 6-0 score.

“It’s important learn from matches like these. If we all cannot learn from this match, and work to get better, then we will not be successful. I’m confident our team has learned a lot from this loss and will put the work in to get better for our remaining matches,” said Coach Restrick.

The next Bobcats Varsity Tennis match will be on Monday, April 18 at North Harford and the match will begin at 3:30 p.m.
