Bobcats Swimming Team Places in South Regional Swim Championships

On Saturday, Feb.13, the outstanding Bel Air Bobcats Swimming Team gave it their all, competing at the South Regional Swim Championships where the Bobcats participated in 24 events.

The Boy Swimming Bobcats placed 1st with a score of 342, while the Girls still hustled hard and came in 2nd scoring 340.

The Bobcats placed first in the following events: Women 200 Yard Medley Relay, Women 200 Yard Freestyle, Women 200 Yard IM, Women 500 Yard Freestyle, Women 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, Men 100 Yard Butterfly, and the Men 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.

“I’m so proud of our team, this season is not over yet,” said Junior Swimmer Emma Cousler.

The energy between the Boys and the Girls really helped pushing the Bobcats to victory. The top scorers were Maria Collins, Rebecca Entner, Olivia McPhee, Matthew McPhee, Xavier Kane and Erin Kenney.

“Its always fun competing in close meets. I can’t wait till next Saturday,” stated Freshman Swimmer Erin Kelley.
