Wrestling Soars Ahead of Aberdeen Eagles

On Wed., Jan. 15, 2014, the Wrestling team travelled to Bo Manor to take on the Eagles. Continuing with their recent win streak, the Bobcats came out on top, 53-16.

The Bobcats started the match with two quick wins by Sophomore Jack Jenkens and Senior Captain Grant Fleming, who both pinned their opponent in the first period. The ‘Cats then lost one but immediately got revenge, tallying three wins in a row which included pins by Sophomore Dakota Crawford and Senior Captain Cyler Crawford and a win by Junior David Reagan. After a Bobcat three match win streak, a loss was tallied for the Bobcats. The team then bounced back, getting two more wins by Junior Brady Stafford and Senior Kenny Scoggins. The Bobcats then gave up two wins in a row but finished strong with three consecutive wins by Juniors Cameron Watts and Pablo Chavarria and Senior Captain John Cross to secure the 53-16 Bobcat win. The win moves the Bobcats to a 13-4 record.

“We wrestled hard against Bo Manor. I am really proud about how this season is going so far for the team,” stated Junior Nick Kutz. “Everyone is working so hard and we are all performing really solid when we need to.”

On Jan. 17, 2014 through Jan. 18, 2014 the Bobcats compete in the St. Michaels Tournament taking place on the Eastern Shore. This is the second year in a row that the Bobcats will be going to this tournament.

“We are ready for the St. Michaels Tournament this weekend. We all have been working hard and I think everyone will perform very well,” said Senior Grant Fleming about the upcoming St. Michaels tournament.
