On Wed., Dec. 17, 2013, the Bel Air Wrestling Team traveled to Aberdeen High School to take on the Eagles. The wrestling team came out on top with a very impressive 63-6 Bobcat victory.

The match started off with four wins in a row by Sophomore Jack Jenkens, Junior Nick Kutz and Seniors Cyler Crawford and Grant Fleming. Those wins were followed by one loss and a win by a forfeit. The next four were also won by Bel Air’s Juniors David Reagan and Brady Stafford and Seniors Ryan Beveridge and Gavin Rupprecht.

After a loss, the Bobcats got revenge against the Eagles and achieved three more wins, two of which were forfeits and one was a pin by Junior Cameron Watts. Against the Aberdeen Eagles, the team got a total of five pins, ten wins including the pins and forfeits and two losses to get a solid win with a score of 63-6.

“If we keep practicing and working to our fullest potential we will have a very successful season as a team,” expressed Sophomore Dakota Crawford.

“It was a really solid team effort. We all did really well, wrestled our hardest and did what we had to do to get the win,” stated Senior Captain Grant Fleming.

The team moves to a 6-2 record and mores forward on their season to the Iron Duals taking place on Jan. 3, 2014, through Jan. 4, 2014 at C. Milton Wright High School.
