Girl’s Volleyball Picks Up Where They Left Off

Varsity Girls Volleyball has gotten off to a great start on the 2013 season, posting a record of 3-1 in the first 4 games. Even with the addition of new Head Coach Walt Bondarenko this season, the Lady Bobcats seem to be picking up right where they left off.

Playing tough in county games to kick off the season, Girls Volleyball has already defeated Patterson Mill, C. Milton Wright and swept North Harford in 3 games on Monday. The only loss came at the hands of cross-town rival Fallston last week.

The Lady Bobcats have been led thus far by Senior Captains Celeste Roland, Amanda Rodriguez and Rien Hachmann. In the match Monday at North Harford, Celeste Roland highlighted the Bobcat attack by serving 12 straight points and tallying 14 kills. The Lady Bobcats swept the Hawks 25-19, 25-14, and 25-15.

“We have very good returning players, and I feel we can make another good run this season”, Rien Hachmann stated. Girls Volleyball of course made the memorable run to the State Semi-Finals last year, finishing just two wins away from a state title. When asked about a possible state championship this season, Rien replied “We definitely have the talent to go back to states this year, and with more hard work and determination, we might bring another state championship home to Bobcat Nation.”
