Ironbirds Open Season With a Loss

On Monday, June 17th 2013 the Aberdeen IronBirds had their opening night at Ripken Stadium where they took on the Hudson Valley Renegades.  The Ironbirds unfortunately lost the game 5-0.

The Renegades starter Jordan Harrison held the IronBirds attack silent through six superior innings when he struck out five players while allowing only two hits, and to finish off the win, the Renegades bullpen pitched three hitless innings.

IronBirds first-year pro Jimmy Yacabonis pitched two scoreless innings of relief, striking out one while allowing only one hit.

Amanda Brock, an Ironbird fan said, “They did a reasonable job but they weren’t really swinging much. They just watched the ball go by them.”
