Summer Reading Program Kicks Off at Public Library

On Monday, June 10th, Harford County Public Libraries started their annual summer reading program which last from now to August 17th.

For the program, middle school and high school students are to read 3 books by August 17th and return their reading log to any one of the 11 branches. Elementary students are to read 10 books by the same date. Reading logs can be returned to any branch after July 1st.

Upon completing the program and returning the reading log, high-school students receive a gift card for Chick-fil-A. Students also receive a page of coupons to places such as McDonalds, Taco Bell/KFC, Rita’s, Smoothie King, Pizza Hut, and 9 other restaurants and establishments when they sign up.

The theme for this year’s teen program is Beneath the Surface. Students are encouraged to sign up for program because the public elementary, middle, and high school with the most participants is awarded a trophy.
