Spirit Week Reflections

Homecoming Spirit Week was a huge success for Bel Air High. Throughout the week, students were having fun but also competing for the top spot in the class competition.  Students showed their creative side with costumes, hairstyles, clothing, crowns, face paint and more craft supplies. The pep rally on Thursday was one of the biggest events. The students and teachers competed in “mini” competitions just for fun, the JV and Varsity cheerleaders both performed an amazing routine, and the teachers shocked the students with their “flash mob” dance.

Finally the class competition results were announced and in  4th place were the sophomores, 3rd place the freshmen, 2nd place the juniors, and in 1st place were the seniors.

At 6pm the Bel Air High School Athletic Boosters Club sponsored the annual Homecoming parade.  The parade traveled through downtown Bel Air and eventually ended at Bel Air High School.  Numerous teams, clubs and organizations participated in the parade, along with members of the 2012 Homecoming Court.

Following the parade was Homecoming Football Game against the New Town Titans. The stands were packed and filled with blue and white. The Varsity football team played a hard fought game against the Titans, and even though they lost 35-6, the Bobcat fans were still the most supportive and the loudest all across Bel Air.

On Friday, October 19th the Homecoming Dance was held at Bel Air High School. The day was filled with many preparations to get ready and the dance was from 7-10 pm.  Luckily most people missed the rain while they were dancing. Everyone had a good time, and will be sad to go back to a “normal” week this week.
