Cheer State Semifinals

The Lady Bobcats headed out to Harford Community College on Feb. 11, 2017, to compete in the Cheerleading State Semifinals. The team has been practicing hard for this event and went into it with hopes of preforming there best and qualifying for states.

“We have been working on perfecting our routine and cleaning up any errors to try to prepare for this competition and then for states,” says sophomore varsity cheerleader Caitlyn Magee.

The girls performed their routine with confidence and made certain adjustments that they had been practicing.

Bel Air scored an 8.7 on dance and a 9.7 on jump execution, which was the highest score for that section.

They had one bobble in a stunt, which resulted in a .25 deduction. Luckily, they were able to save it and keep the flyer up.

Overall, the Lady Cats came in fourth place, which qualified them for states. The girls plan to work hard, hit their routine, and bring home the win for the Bobcats.

You can come out to support on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at HCC at 6:00 p.m. as the team attempts to bring home the state championship title. Go Cats!
