Bobcats Suffer Loss to Eagles

Daniel Webber

On Friday, Oct. 14, the Bel Air Bobcats came up short at Aberdeen High School, taking their first loss of the year 15-22 against the Eagles.

The Bobcats scored first on a long drive at the end of the first half, but a long kick return and a quick score with a two-point conversion gave the Eagles a lead that they did not give up for the rest of the game.

It was a tough fought battle that came down to the last seconds of the game, but the Eagles got the stop on the last play of the game and came away with the win.

“We tried to stay in our power set and push the ball in but credit to Aberdeen for coming up with a huge stop when they needed it most.” Says senior Daniel Webber.

The Bobcats’ playoff hopes are still alive however they will need to focus on winning their final three games of the season in order to make it in as a 3 or 4 seed.

“We can’t afford to let another game slip.” Senior Sam Queen states. “We have to take it one game at a time and do our jobs so that we stay in control of our playoff hopes.”

The Bobcats’ next opponent is the Hawks from North Harford. The game will be on Thursday, Oct. 20, at Bobcat Stadium. It is the Bobcats’ homecoming game and their pink game to support breast cancer awareness, so come out and support the Cats as they look to tackle another tough county opponent.
