This past week, Bel Air Varsity Girls’ Soccer goalie, Andrea Sipos, was recognized as the NSCAA All-South Region selection out of 6 regions in the U.S.A. In addition to this remarkable accomplishment, Andrea has also achieved 1st Team All-State, 1st Team All-Metro, 1st Team All-Harford, and 1st Team All-UCBAC.

The Lady Bobcats went 14-2-1 on the season, and of those 17 games, Sipos recorded 9 shutouts and only 2 multi-goal allowed games. Facing an extremely tough schedule in the 2014 season, the Lady Bobcats were able to advance to the state semi-finals for the 2nd year running under the coaching of Mr. Clemmer.

“Andrea is an incredibly motivated player who has worked hard since she entered BAHS,” said Clemmer. “She came in as an excellent goal keeper, but has continued to strive to improve as well.  She has been working on improving her technique and athleticism and refining her game.  She trains with our goalie coach on increasing her range and understanding situational play.  Andrea has grown into an exceptional player and we look forward to this trend improving through her senior year.”

Throughout this entire season, Sipos was able to record a jaw dropping .918 save percentage saving 91.8% of shots against her. Being only 1 of 8 juniors recognized for this award, who knows what the 2016 year and her senior season holds for her soccer career.

“When I transferred to Bel Air, the coaching staff and the dynamics of the team made all the difference. When I got HM All-State last year, I couldn’t believe it, and a mutual feeling came when I got 1st team All-South and All-Region. Undoubtedly, the difference is that the support I get from Mr. Clemmer, Mr. Brooks, Callahan, Chuck, Kellie, and the team makes me want to work harder because I’m not competing for a spot on the team anymore. It’s about seeing how far we can all go together,” said Sipos.

Congratulations Andrea from all of us here at the Bellarion!
