Girls’ Soccer Advances In Playoffs

On Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, the Bel Air Girls’ Soccer team took on Patapsco High School at home in the second round of playoffs.

The Lady Cats’ just came off of having a first round bye, ready to defeat Patapsco.

The Bobcats scored a total of three goals in the first half. Goal scorers were Junior Julianna Portera with the assist from Senior Captain Kayla Klock, followed by a header from Junior Jaimie Layfield, and a goal from Senior Kayla Klock to finish the 1st half. Junior Andrea Sipos played in goal for the first half keeping Patapsco off the scoreboard.

As the second half began Junior Molly Loughlin was subbed in goal to keep Patapsco off the scoreboard. In the second half, the Lady Cats’ scored another 4 goals.

Goal scorers in the second half were Senior Captain Shannon Williams, Junior Jaimie Layfield, Junior Carrianne Simmons, and Freshman Kenzie Wallace.

With this huge win, the Bel Air Girls’ Soccer Team now advances to the 3A North Semi’s. Come out and support your Lady Cats’!
