Girls’ Soccer Back to State Semi-Finals

On Tuesday Nov. 5 the Bel Air Girls Varsity Soccer team took on the Westminster Owls in the Regional Championship for the 2013 playoffs.

This battle in Westminster consisted of a physical and intense first half of solid defense for both teams as no goals were given up thanks to an impressive defense led by Captain Caroline Lozzi. Recording yet another shutout with 3 saves on the day was Goalie Andrea Sipos.

After gathering themselves, the Lady Bobcats were able to pressure the Owls defense as Natalie Decker knocked in the first and only goal of the game helping Bel Air take the Regional Championship in a 1-0 game and improve onto the State Semi-Finals.

After the game Kayla Klock, who had assisted Natalie Decker’s goal stated, “The game was intense and we never stopped playing hard. We were excited when we finally put in that goal in the last final minutes as all our hard work had paid off.”
