Applewood Farm welcomes everyone to Bright Night Friday and Saturday nights at 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. However, the farm is much more than a Christmas tree farm. Applewood Farm will be open during the day Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and admission is free. Applewood Farm is open until Dec. 22.
Applewood Farm in Whiteford, Maryland is a great way to spread the holiday cheer with a variety of festive activities that are available. It includes many activities for families and friends to enjoy. Some of the festive activities and points of interest include hayrides, a petting zoo, a kiddy maze, lawn bowling, reindeer antler toss, Santa’s Work Shop, and model trains (Train Gardens). The Farm also offers Christmas trees for purchase. There are a variety of fresh cut trees to pick from, including White Spruce, White Pine, Fraser Fir and Douglas Fir.
Applewood farms, “Bright Nights,” are a one mile drive through a twinkling Christmas light display featuring animated and static lighted Christmas scenes. The Christmas barn is halfway through the tour and will be open for you to stop, park and enjoy the model train displays, gift shop, and petting zoo. More lights and trees are displayed throughout this 1,773 year old log barn. Refreshments such as hotdogs, hot and cold beverages, chips and candy will be for sale.
In 2013, Applewood Farm has celebrated its 38th year at the farm for Christmas time and its 36th year of selling trees. Even though Christmas time isn’t the only time that Applewood Farms is open, it is one of their most popular times of the year. It is a great way to join the holiday times with special friends and family, so go out, have fun and make a good holiday memory.
