On Friday, August 31, 2018, the Bel Air Girls’ Volleyball team played their first regular season game at Bel Air High School against Perry Hall High School. The Bobcats swept the gators with a score of 3-0.

After being ranked #13 in the Baltimore Sun’s 2018 Baltimore-Area Girls Volleyball Preseason Top 15 Poll, the Bobcats had to play up to some high expectations. Coming out strong, the Varsity Volleyball team had a successful first game and showed how well they play together.

After claiming their victory, the Bobcats got moved to the #1 spot in their conference, and everyone on the team plans to secure it and their undefeated record.

“We played a really good game all around,” says Senior Captain Megan Hoy.” “I think playing these better teams is a lot more beneficial for our team as we look in the future, so I think we’re in a good position as we move on in the season.”

The Bobcats continued sweeping the competition on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, playing their second regular season game at Bel Air High School against Bohemia Manor High School. The Bobcats claimed their second win by sweeping the Eagles with a score of 3-0.

After clinching their victory, the Bobcats earned an early #1 ranking in the overall record, topping their conference as well. The girls still want to work hard so they can remain on top as they continue their season.

“The competition is only going to increase from here, and that’s what makes us want to work hard every day in practice, so we can be better players than we were yesterday, says Junior Julianna Harden.
