Bel Air Indoor Track Competes at Essex

On January 19, 2018, the Bel Air Track competed at CCBC for the 5th Essex Meet. At this meet, Bel Air competed in 11 events.

Junior, Kurt Nolasco placed 13th for the 55 Meter Dash with a PR time of 7.22. Caitlyn Graney came in 17th with a personal record time of 8.43 and Carolyn Klein came in 24th with a personal record time of 8.67. For the 4×160 Relay, Girl’s came in 6th with a time of 1:37.33 and 15th with a time of 1:49.92. The Boy’s placed 7th with a time of 1:25.02 and 14th with a time of 1:35.15. For the 4×400 relay, the Girl’s placed 2nd with a time of 4:01.18 and 6th with a time of 4:09.00. The Boy’s placed 1st with a time of 4:49.23 and placed 4th with a time of 5:01.56. For the 4×800 Relay, the Girl’s team placed 2nd with a time of 11:24.78 and 7th with a time of 12:25.07. The Boy’s team placed 8th with a time of 10:34.80.

For the Boy’s team, Junior, Kurt Nolasco came in 13th for the 300 Meter race with a personal record time of 42.78 and Bryson Foye came in 14th with a personal record time of 42.87. Diallo Smith came in 22nd with a time of 45.42 and Vincent Difazio came in 35th with a personal record time of 48.78. For the Girl’s team, Freshman, Caitlyn Graney came in 12th with a time of 49.74, Heather Wheeler came in 36th with a personal record time of 56.46, and Paige Dent came in 39th with a personal record time of 57.34. For the 500 Meter race, Brenton Duvall came in 2nd with a personal record time of 1:12.72. Diallo Smith placed 18th with a time of 1:25.40 and Bryson Foye finished close behind with a time of 1:27.77. Kyle Gavin placed 26th with the time 1:31.50 and Matthew Reynolds placed 30th with a personal record time of 1:37.24 for the Boy’s team. For the Girl’s team, Paige Blaker placed 7th with a personal record time of 1:31.38. Hailey Colt finished in 14th with a personal record time of 1:38.49, Carolyn Klein came after in 15th with a time 1:38.64, shortly after came Aimee Sylvester in 16th with a personal record time of 1:39.64. Sarah Phillips placed 24th with a personal record time of 1:51.02.

“I am so proud of myself and the team. We have had a great season and everyone has made incredible improvements since the beginning of the season. I am so excited that we have made it to regionals!” Says Kurt Nolasco.

For the 800 Meter race, Ethan Gray finished in 2nd place with a school record time of 2:10.41, Brenton Duvall came shortly after in 3rd with a time of 2:13.51, then Andrew Plowman finished in 16th with a personal record time of 2:15.21, finally for the Boy’s team, Josh Zylka placed 29th with a time of 2:43.80. For the Girl’s, Ava Goeller finished in 2nd with a personal record time of 2:34.10, Erin Brown placed 5th with a personal record time of 2:37.50. Paige Blaker placed 8th with a PR time of 2:41.95, Katherine Ausmus placed 10th with a personal record time of 2:44.41 and Riley McDermott placed 12th with a personal record time of 2:46.20.

“I am very proud of myself and the team, we have had an amazing season so far and I can’t wait to see how we end it for my Senior year,” Says Ethan Gray.

For the 1600 Meter race, Andrew Plowman finished in 2nd place with a personal record time of 4:52.25, Nick Hammond came in 6th with a school record time of 5:04.35. Sanjay Sethi placed 18th with a personal record PR time of 5:28.80 and Joshua Phillips placed 26th with a personal record time of 5:43.45 for the Boy’s team. For the Girl’s, Rebekah Cross finished in 2nd place with a time of 5:51.23 and Riley McDermott finished in 5th with a personal record time of 6:03.15. Lauren LeDonne came in 12th with a time of 6:21.90 and Maya Feick placed 13th with a personal record time of 6:24.03. Caitlyn Merrill finished in 19th with a personal record time of 6:35.58.

“I am so excited to see what else we can accomplish during this season and I am so proud of everyone. I can’t wait for Spring Track!” says Rebekah Cross.
