Girls’ Basketball Topples Elkton

On Thursday, January 11, 2018, the Girls’ JV and Varsity Basketball team traveled to Elkton High School to play the Golden Elks. Both teams played a great game and put up another win for the Bobcats.

To continue the winning streak for the JV team, the Bobcats would have to start and end with intense play and play aggressively. Fortunately, the Cats’ won with a score of 45-25.

With key contributors like Freshmen Emma Sanza and Cia Vlangas, the girls played a well game and executed everything right while playing.

“I think we played very well during this game. It was definitely a team win and I’m so proud of the way we played,” says Freshman Emma Sanza.

The varsity Lady Cats’ also played an intense game against Elkton and won with a score of 52-50. Key players include Senior Julia Henry with 14 points and 2 steals, Junior Autumn Dougherty with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals, and Junior Bailey Springer with 10 points and 7 rebounds.

“Even though we were down a majority of the game, the team didn’t give up. We were still in this game and played as hard as we could to get the lead with seconds left in the game,” says Senior Julia Henry.
