Girls’ Volleyball Takes Two Wins in Last Week of Regular Season

The Varsity Girls’ Volleyball team finished their regular season schedule with two wins against Havre De Grace and Elkton on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 and Thursday, October 26, 2017 respectively.

On Tuesday, October 24, 2017, the Bobcats traveled to Havre De Grace to play the Warriors on their Senior Night game. The Bobcats spoiled the Warriors Senior Night game with a quick victory in three sets. This was the second time this season that the Bobcats beat the Warriors in straight sets.

On Thursday, October 26, 2017, the Varsity Girls Volleyball team celebrated their Seniors, at their annual Senior Night game against the Elkton Golden Elks. The Bobcats won quickly in straight sets against the Golden Elks. This is the second time this year that the Varsity team beat the Golden Elks.

“I’m happy the way we have played all season and I’m really excited for the playoffs to start,” says Varsity Girls’ Volleyball player, Lauren Winn.

With their two wins last week, the Bobcats finished second in their league standings behind undefeated Rising Sun who have a perfect 14-0 record, and just in front of Bohemian Manor who are 12-3. The Bobcats now head into the playoffs as the second seed with a 12-2 record.

“The team has given up so many hours and so many Saturdays to get to this moment, this is a once in a lifetime chance to do something great in the playoffs. We couldn’t be more excited for the playoffs to start,” says Varsity Girls’ Volleyball player, Mckenna Reiswig.

The Bobcats will have a bye in the first round of the playoffs this week and then await the winner of Kenwood and Edgewood to see who they will take on in the second round. Come out and support your Bobcats as the playoffs begin.
