Through the first four games of the 2017 season, the Bobcats have started the season out with a solid 3-1 record putting them at the top of their league standings.

On Thursday September 7th, the Bel Air Girls’ Volleyball team played their first home game of the season against the Aberdeen Eagles. The Bobcats made quick work of Aberdeen by winning the game in the first three sets. On Thursday September 14th, the Bobcats traveled to Joppatwone High School to play the Mariners. Once again, the Bobcats made quick work of Joppatowne winning in three straight sets for the second game in a row.

On Saturday, September 16, the Bobcats played the John Carroll Patriots as part of the “Battle of Bel Air” weekend series, receiving their first loss of the season, losing in four sets to the Patriots. Even though the Cats lost, they still put up a good effort against a tough John Carroll team.

“The season has been really fun, Varsity and JV have come together nicely, and I hope it continues,” says JV Girls Volleyball player Ellie Smith.

On Tuesday September 19th, the Bobcats had their third home game of the season against the Edgewood Rams. In the first sets the Bobcats won 25-23 led by great hitting by Megan Hoy, and 17 set assists by Olivia Simon. In the second set, the Bobcats won the set 25-22 led by great serving by Maddie Reagan, and great overall gameplay. In the third set the cats put the game away winning the final set 25-16. This win improved the Bobcats record to 3-1 on the season.

“I hope Varsity can succeed and do really well this season,” says Girls JV Volleyball player Ann-Marie Anglada.

The Bobcats next game will be on Tuesday September 26th when they will travel to North Harford High School to play the Hawks. JV is at 3:30, and Varsity is at 5:00.
