On Jan. 9, the Bel Air Swimming Team competed in a three-way match against Patterson Mill and Edgewood. The Bobcats came in first place with combined score of 157.

Xavier Kane led the boys to swim to an insane score of 86, following a 56 for their first event.  Becca Etner helped the girls finish the match with great scores of 62 and 64.

Both Patterson Mill and Bel Air’s girl swimmers came into this event undefeated, but the Lady Bobcats swam their way to a close victory.

“Patterson Mill and Edgewood came to swim this evening,” says Swimming Coach Ms. McDonough. “They both competed hard and gave it their all. The competition was tough throughout the whole meet.”

The top scorers for this event were Xavier Kane, Rob Powell, Matt Siebold, Matt Weaver, Becca Etner, Sydney Mika, and Eliza Cohen.

“Bel Air pulled together and worked as a team to pull out a win and there was a lot to prove,” McDonough states.

The next swim meet will be held on Jan. 17 at Magnolia Middle School at 5:45 p.m. The Bel Air Swimming Team will be facing C. Milton Wright. Go Bobcats!
