Field Hockey Team on the Way to State Championship

On Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, the Field Hockey team took on Huntingtown High School in the state semifinals game at Paint Branch High School, winning with a score of 3-0.

The Bobcats started with the ball in the first half and made many attempts at the goal. Huntingtown’s defense put up a good fight, but were defeated by the dominating Bobcats. It was an intense game with the persistent rain, leading to a tie 0-0 at halftime.

Huntingtown started with the ball second half, and came out stronger and more aggressive than before.The Bobcats defense had to work harder than they did in the first half, but were able to keep to Huntingtown’s shots from hitting the back of the cage. The first goal of the game was scored by Junior Anna Farley, quickly followed by another goal shot by Junior Hailey Lockard. To secure their win, Junior Anna Farley made her second goal of the game, upping the score to 3-0, Bobcats.

“The girls played amazing, everything we have been practicing was executed to perfection. The girls put 110% into the game and I couldn’t ask for better teammates!” said Senior Goalie Selena Garcia.

The Field Hockey team will travel to Washington College on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 1:30 pm to compete in the state championship. Go Bobcats!
