Bobcats Take on the Eagles

Aidan Lake

On Thursday, Oct. 15, our Varsity Bobcats returned home, and shut out the Aberdeen Eagles, 23-0.

Bel Air dominated the ground game all night long, with Juniors Keegan McHugh and John Scott carrying the load for the Bobcats. Scott started the offense’s dominating performance early, with a 58-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Keegan McHugh ran all over the Eagles defense, scoring two touchdowns including a 72 yard run in the second quarter.

Keegan McHugh credited his offensive line for the powerhouse rushing attack he has shown this season, “With our offensive line play, I know they will be consistent, they’re a great group of guys who always get their job done.”

McHugh continued to give praise to his offensive line for the dominating performance, “It’s all the offensive line.  They work their butts off every day in practice, making myself and all the other backs look good. They do a great job week in and week out.”

Bel Air’s defense also showed up huge, halting Aberdeen to zero points on the night, recording the second shut-out of the season.

You can catch your Bobcats next Friday, Oct. 23, at North Harford High to take on the neighboring Hawks. Come out to support Varsity Football as they inch closer to the playoffs. Go Bobcats!
