Boys’ Soccer Beats Patterson Mill in Season Opener

On Monday, Sept. 8, the Bel Air Bobcats Boys’ Varsity Soccer Team began their season with a huge county rival game against Patterson Mill High School in the season opener for these two competitive teams.

As the game began, a lot of rough play took place. Stellar defense was shown by both the Huskies and the Bobcats. Bel Air continued to stand tall and the game was scoreless as we reached halftime.

Coming onto the field in the second half, the determination of Bel Air stood out. No longer than 10 minutes later, Sophomore Collin Tolson was able to beat a few defenders and give Bel Air the first score of the game as he knocked a perfectly placed ball in the corner. That wasn’t enough for our Bobcats; with about 15 minutes left in the game Junior Ryan Wills ripped a dagger into the back of the net from about 10 yards out to put away this glorious game led by Coach Rose.

Coach Rose commented on the team’s performance. “It was a very emotional game which was expected. Sloppy first half but we got under control and a couple underclassmen put some in for us, overall it was a good win and we hope to continue this win streak.”
