Field Hockey Breaks 6 Year Curse Against Fallston

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, Bel Air High School’s Field Hockey team hosted Fallston in a very emotional game for the seniors who were being honored on Senior Night.

The girls being honored on this special night were Tori Gryglewski, Jessica Vasquez, Savannah Garcia, Madison Healy, Kayla Jeppi, Jaime Klunk, Mackey Nitchie, Kailee Chavis, Lucy Loughlin and Meghan Scarry.

Bel Air came to play in the first half dominating possession and keeping relentless pressure on Fallston’s fatigued defense. The Bobcats had multiple corners but could not convert. Madison Healy scored the lone goal unassisted at the 16 minute mark to put the Bobcats ahead.

The second half Fallston picked up the intensity and the game went back and forth for most of the half with Fallston having ample opportunities to even the game. The Bobcats defense stayed strong and held Fallston’s attack at bay for the remainder of the second half to come out with the win. Savannah Garcia got the shutout and tallied 6 saves in the game.
