On September 16 the Varsity Field Hockey team took on the visiting Reservoir Gators in a nail-biting game and came out on top 2-1 in double overtime.
Reservoir scored first to take the lead 1-0, but only a couple minutes later Judy Yurkofsky dribbled the ball in the net to make the score 1-1. Goalies Savanna Garcia and Morgan Dimanico both had great showings throughout the game.
At the end of the second half with the score still tied at 1-1 the game went into a 10 minute 7 v 7 overtime. Seniors Jaime Klunk, Tori Gryglewski and Jessica Vasquez and juniors Katy Higinbotom, Anna Farley, Judy Yurkofski and Savanna Garcia started the first overtime. After 10 minutes of overtime and no goals scored, the game went into double overtime.
Klunk, Garcia, Yurkofsky, Farley, Higinbotom, Sam Keesey and Meghan Scarry started the second half of the overtime. With 5 minutes left Senior Meghan Scarry scored the winning goal with an assist from Judy Yurkofsky.
The Lady Bobcats next matchup will be at home against John Carrol at 3:30 on Wednesday September 18th.
