There is No Stopping the Sports For Life Hoops Team

Thursday, April 13 Bel Air Bobcats Sports for Life basketball team played 9 other teams from around Harford County at Harford Tech High School in a tournament. The gym was packed tight with supporting fans and the Patterson Mill Cheerleaders where there to get the crowd “Pumped Up”.  Bel Air showed their great sportsmanship by cheering other teams while sitting on the bleachers and waiting for their turn on the court,  but when Bel Air was playing they showed off all their basketball skills.  This just wasn’t luck either,  they hhave been working hard at practice for the past month.

Bobcat top scorer Jessica DeSpirto screamed in excitement when scoring the last point of the night against Joppatowne. “It was a pleasure to see our students participating in United Sports basketball. They showed great sportsmanship and played hard. Many staff and students attended the game last night to cheer on the basketball team.” Mrs.Harris said.

Shelby  Roberts, Devin Harris, Breanna Malveaux, Jonathon Bigley, and Theresa Waybright were all played  great defense, while Jessica DeSpirto, Brian Aiken, Briana Ziehl, Vicky VanBeek, Laura Everwein, and Andy Austin Perez the top scorers for Bel Air.

Helpers Jamie Salmons, Brittany Bergguist, and Breanna Malveaux all did a fantastic job getting the ball for the team. Coaches Mrs.Davis and Ms.Schmid were thrilled with the team’s effort and the outcome of the game.  Congratulations Team!
