Now that spring has arrived and summer is well on its way, warming heat and bright sunny days are starting to emerge. This time of year is a wondrous time for going outside, but also increases the risk of heat related injuries. There are many different strategies and ways to avoid the hazards of a hot day.

A pocket fan is one of many objects that can help a person avoid overheating. These pocket fans can be found everywhere, coming in many different shapes and sizes. Individuals can also make their own makeshift fan by as using a single piece of paper, and folding it evenly accordion style then directly in half. Fans are a simple object to bring to school, the beach, or just outside. Battery powered ones tend to be more cooling and leave the user with less wrist strain, but the user must also pack extra batteries.

A cool or frozen water bottle is a great way to stay hydrated especially when exercising. Although there are many beverages, water is a simple drink to store and freeze overnight with no sugar. In addition, water bottles can often be refilled throughout the day. By keeping a group of frozen water bottles in your fridge you can easily grab one on the go when leaving the house.

On a sunny day, eye protection is an underrated necessity. Sunglasses can be very cheap or expensive depending on the brand, but with multiple designs available to choose from finding a pair that goes with your sense of style can be a simple task. In addition, they protect their eyes against multiple health related issues that result from sun damage which can cause temporary blindness.

Putting on or bringing sunblock protects the user skin against the sun’s ultraviolet lights. By having sunscreen people can prevent sunburns, especially those who easily get sunburnt or those who are outside a lot. Sunscreen lessens the risk of skin damage and cancer that develops after extensive sun exposure. Depending on how often an individual is outside on any given day, companies make multiple sunscreens with different fps (sun protection factors).

For those who are spending long hours outside wearing a hat can also help them stay cool and protect their faces from the sun’s UV light, in addition to sunscreen. Hats are also a way to accessorize throughout the year with multiple types and styles to choose form for each season.

Hopefully these few items help you as you enjoy the warmth of the season. There are many other ways to avoid the hazards of the heat and sun, so remember to stay safe as summer arrives.
