On Saturday, Oct. 17, the Bel Air Bobcat Cheerleaders competed at Bel Air High School, resulting in a 1st place victory from both JV and Varsity.

Bel Air Varsity and JV cheerleaders came early Saturday morning ready to show off this season’s stunts and skills.

The Lady Cats practiced six days a week to prepare for this competition.

Senior Captain Emily McQuay said, “The minor details count the most. Focusing on the little things help the team win. Being able to work with my best friend and co-captain Sarah Fleischmann helps us lead Bel Air’s cheerleading squad to success.”

The Lady Cats were challenged this year with trying out new harder routines and stunts for their competition.

“This weekend’s routine had more difficult stunt sequences and tumbling compared to the seasons before,” said Varsity Cheerleader Olivia Schneiderhan.

Work ethic, positive attitudes, positive friendships, and great bonds take a huge influence on the cheerleader’s performances.

Olivia Schneiderhan stated, “I am so proud how well the team gets a long and works together, I feel that it helps make the team more successful.”
