NAHS Inducts Four New Members

On Feb. 5, 2015, the members of Bel Air High School National Art Honor Society inducted five new members.

This was a very important day for many of the students who are very passionate about art. Many hours of voluntary work is required for this club and the students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The inductees were as listed: Taylor Cruz, Kieran Fitzgerald, Shelby Gahler, Marissa Pasquinelli and Sarah Kujala.

As the inductees proceeded with the celebration, three candles were lit–red, blue, and yellow–to represent the primary colors. Parents and fellow students were invited to celebrate the induction. Mrs. Ballard, one Bel Air’s art teachers, shared kind words about the inductees.

“Students have improved greatly from 9-12th grade, and I hope to see them making more progress and being successful,” she explained.

The event included displays of artwork from many of the students at BAHS.

“Many hours of voluntary work is necessary in order to be in this club, as is in most societies. This shows that you’re very passionate about something and will look great when applying to colleges,” said Mrs. Ballard.

This society has been in place at Bel Air for ten years and teachers and students hope to see more of their artwork.
