The anticipated moment arises. The moment that most students wait their whole high school career for; prom. Bel Air High school’s prom took place last weekend on May 2nd, 2026, at APG’s top of the bay venue.
The night was filled with glitz and glamour, food, and fun drinks, but most of all, music, and dancing on the dance floor. There was an open layout with the floor to dance on, then tables that wrapped around that, going into the side rooms.
Upstairs, they had all the fun activities like, a Photo Booth, different games to play, a photo 360 video stand, and a back deck that poured out into the back area that sat right on the water, where you could watch off the balcony. The perfect time to go out was as the sun was setting, the sky was painted all with pretty colors, making it a memorable night.
The prom food consisted of meatballs, spring rolls, and egg rolls. There were also two different special drinks which rotated throughout the night so there was a variety of different things. There were also all different kinds of desserts, familiar and unique.
Towards the end of prom, most people did leave, which was expected. I personally stayed until the end because I did not want this special part of my senior year to end. By the end of the night though, I had the DJ play “Dancing Queens,” a staple ABBA song that really ties everything together, and triggers emotions, especially when dancing to it with your friends. In the moment, I felt like my own dancing queen.
