Bel Air High School Journalism’s team is showing appreciation for women’s teachers this month of March, Women’s History Month. My teacher for appreciation is Mrs. Jennifer Mayo.
Mayo is one of the mathematics teachers at Bel Air High. She teaches Algebra 1 and Ramp Up to Algebra, a daily math class. Mayo had been teaching at Bel Air for 16 years, starting in 2010.
Outside of school, Mayo spends “lots of time with her family.” She has a husband, two kids, both of young ages, and her beloved golden retriever, Barney.
Mayo expresses “I love to do yoga and crafts,” makes gifts on her Cricut or sewing arts and crafts of of any sort.
I would like to express my appreciation for Ms. Mayo. She is a very kind, funny, and dedicated teacher who truly loves what she does. She makes learning enjoyable and explains things in a way that makes the work feel easier and more understandable. Her positive attitude and politeness make the classroom a welcoming place for everyone.
She is passionate about teaching and genuinely cares about her students. Ms. Mayo is truly well-suited for this role, and I was grateful to have her as my teacher.
