With celebrating women’s history month, it’s important to highlight individuals who don’t get as much recognition as they should. Teachers have been important figures to a lot of younger audiences with the way they teach you a way to embrace subjects you love or helping you find a way to learn and grow to the best of your ability. They have put time and effort into making sure students get the best experience from elementary to high school.

We’ve decided to talk to Mrs. Humphrey, asking her questions to show how much effort and dedication she has put into being a good teacher for students.

Q. What classes do you teach?

A. Advanced and regular photography, fine art prep, pottery.

Q. Do you contribute to the school outside of teaching? If so, what is it?

A. I help out at graduation with the rose arches, and I help plan out art conventions for students art, mostly art related events.

Q. Do you enjoy teaching such a variety of art classes?

A. Definitely yes, it allows me to help students learn a lot of different forms of art, so they know they aren’t just limited to drawing or painting.

Q. What’s a hobby you really enjoy doing outside of school?

A. Well, I really enjoy travelling, and photography. Being able to take such pretty photos is amazing!

We have also gathered information from a student from one of Mrs. Humphrey’s classrooms. It’s important to get a different viewpoint from someone who has personally been in a class of hers. Being able to understand not just from the teacher herself but also from a student.

A. Rowan Lungstrom, currently a Junior taking pottery.

Q. Is Mrs. Humphrey a good teacher?

A: Yes! She is very patient, informative, and very understanding for students.

Q. What do you enjoy most about her class?
A. We have a lot of artistic freedom, very social class. [It is a] nice class to have in the morning.

Q. Anything else you would like to share? Maybe something else you enjoy about Mrs. Humphrey?

A. She and my brother are pretty close, which I think makes our teacher-student relationship better.
