Bel Air High’s Varsity Wrestling Team finished 4th out of 15 teams in a tight race. They delivered a great performance and made successful efforts. Bel Air placed 11 wrestlers out of 15, entered in top six of their weight class. But while the teams were in different brackets, they managed to score on everyone, showing the challenges they faced as a whole.
Highlights for the event were 4 individuals that stood out on the podium: Coed Division 120-Sr. Khalil Mobley, 50-Sr. Andrew Montalvo, 285-Jr. Owen Reilly, and 135-Soph. Grace Reilly in the Female division.
Coach Craig Reddish praised the team for their efforts and showed support for his team. This tournament showed all the time and effort everyone has shown this past season, with several under and upperclassmen making placements and alongside each other.
Considering the match the most historic moment is when Madison Birth finished in third place. Reddish says, “History was made as Jr. Madison Birth became the highest placing female in the male (Coed Division) as she took third place at 113. Her devotedness shows the strength and growth in the females division and we hope to see more along the way.”
